AI visibility: what assistants say before a buyer knows you exist.

The buyer's question, asked five times across the assistants, with the spread recorded and the cited pages listed. No brand names in any question; those pages are where the shortlist actually forms.

Built on WealthKarma, a retirement app for Gulf expats. Every count is real and every gap is marked as a gap.

Four of the six are listicles. Two are owned by companies that appear in the answer. None mentions WealthKarma.

03 · The finding
Named in none of fifteen runs. The shortlist is decided by six pages and you are on none of them.
04 · Three fixes, in order
01
Get onto the six pages above. Four take submissions or accept a pitch. This is outreach, not marketing, and it is the only fix that changes the answer this quarter.
02
Put checkable numbers on your own pages. The research says verifiable statistics, real quotations and cited sources move visibility 30 to 40 per cent. You currently publish adjectives. You have survey data — 1,000 respondents, 72 per cent unsure of their goals — and it is in a deck rather than on the web.
03
Publish a dated fact sheet a machine can read. Numbers, sources, dates. Do not add instructions telling assistants what to say — several companies do this and the same research found asserting authority has no effect.
05 · What this can't tell you
Answers are not stable. Fifteen runs is a sample, not a measurement.
Results change by region and by account. Yours will differ from a buyer's in Riyadh.
No assistant publishes how it picks what to name.
One model release can undo all of this, in either direction.
This was Claude with web search. Other assistants cite differently, so this is one view and not the only one.
